Hot Apple Cider Recipe

  • 4 cups of apple juice or cider
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

  1. In a large pot, combine the apple juice or cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, and apple slices.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar to sweeten to your liking.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it’s hot but not boiling (about 10 minutes).
  4. Once hot, remove the pot from the heat and discard the cinnamon sticks and cloves.
  5. Ladle the hot apple cider into mugs, and if desired, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra treat.
